| Region 6 of the World Tang Soo Do Association held their 2008 Spring Black Belt Seminar at East Miss. Tang Soo Do Karate Studio in Amory, Mississippi on Friday and Saturday-January 18th and 19th. This year the Region had a very special guest, Grandmaster Jae C. Shin. The Grandmaster was presented a key to the city of Amory(an engraved Railroad Spike) by Mayor Howard Boozer in a ceremony on Friday at the studio. He then attended a luncheon with the Mayor, City Councilmen, and the Amory Main Street Association. During his visit, Grandmaster Shin was interviewed by the Amory Advertiser newspaper, the Tupelo Daily Journal newspaper, and WTVA News. He conducted a Gup belt work out for the students of the Amory studio on Friday night, conducted a Ki Gong (relaxation and meditation) class for the students, parents, and guests Saturday morning, and presided over the Region's Black Belt workout on Saturday. He was also honored Saturday night at a dinner at Bo Riley's Restaurant. The Black Belt workout included Black Belts and Masters from Region 6 which includes Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Tennessee. The studio hosted over 100 participants from the Region at Saturday's workout. |
